A Daniella Nicole Blog:

Dani on Dating

A blog about relationships and dating that  deals with  dating and relationship issues, sometimes from an LDS perspective.

A Note About Religion and Writing: Some have recommended that I not display this blog on my business website as a sample of my work because it deals with some LDS (i.e. Mormon) perspectives on dating and relationships - most of which are common in the Christian world.

I have nothing to hide, I display my other personal blogs, and I am not an 'in-your-face'  religious person. Frankly, if someone wishes to rule me out for work due to my religious writings or beliefs, I agree with them that I would not be a good fit for their company or project.

I would never want to work with someone who continually feels uncomfortable with me simply because of something I choose in my personal life. I am all about peace, harmony, and happiness in the work place. I recognize that while I am comfortable working with people who are different from me in any number of ways, not everyone feels similarly.

All of that being said, it is also important to me that I not be hired for work simply because I am a member of any particular faith or religious genre, either. There are good and bad people across all races, religions, and nationalities. To assume any one is ethical, honest, hard-working or any other positive simply because of their religious affiliation is  wrong. People are imperfect, and there are bad apples in every barrel.

Though I am hard-working, honest, and ethical, it is due to my personal choices that I am such. It is not a given because I have religion in my life - I also have the agency to choose how I live, and how I apply or do not apply the religious doctrine I am taught. It is the same for everyone - religious or not.

Unless specifically requested as part of the assignment or project, my religious views are shared only in my personal life and in my personal writings. I can be objective and address viewpoints that are contradictory to my own in a professional and fair manner.

One such example is my GOP Debate article. I was accused of being in favor of 'this one' or 'that one' due to my evaluations of the debate, when in fact, the candidate I liked most of them all did not rate very well in my estimation of the debate - and he was rated accordingly in my article. No one ever guessed who I liked best of the GOP candidates.

So, hire me because you like my work. Treat me with professionalism, and prepare to be treated likewise. And, if it really bothers you that I am LDS, well, I'm sorry you feel that way and wish you the best in all you do. Thank you for your time and consideration of me for your project.

Sincerely,

~Daniella Nicole
